Excited to share a new NSF-funded project under the Mind, Machine, and Motor Nexus (M3X) program, Award #2533498. Together with Burçin Becerik-Gerber, Gale M. Lucas, Antonin Brun, and Alexandra Medina-Borja, we’ll use wearable optical stress sensors and environmental sensors to detect indicators of mental strain and dynamically adapt indoor environments in response — enabling real-time, bidirectional collaboration between humans and buildings that monitors and responds to occupants’ attention, cognitive capacity, and emotional well-being. 🏢🧠✨
